Gabrielle Nicolet – Attorney Profile
The Ordway Building
1 Kaiser Plaza, Suite 2300
Oakland, California 94612
Originally from Chicago, Gabrielle Nicolet focuses her legal practice on post-conviction advocacy in both state and federal courts. With nearly a decade of experience in criminal defense and a deep commitment to criminal justice and sentencing reform, she brings skill, compassion, and a client-centered approach to every case. Ms. Nicolet handles criminal appeals, resentencing petitions, writs of habeas corpus, Racial Justice Act motions, and expungements/record clearances.
Her passion for this work is rooted in her volunteer efforts at San Quentin State Prison, where she has supported reentry programming since 2015. She currently serves as Program Director for Prison to Employment Connection, a 14-week job readiness program.
Before becoming an attorney, Ms. Nicolet worked extensively in criminal defense, providing litigation support on felony, misdemeanor, and post-conviction matters. In lieu of attending traditional law school, she completed a 4-year legal apprenticeship through California’s Law Office Study Program and passed the California Bar Exam on her first attempt in February 2023. She understands how high the stakes are in every case and is committed to advocating for her clients with diligence, care, and respect.
